Awareness today, hope tomorrow
Alzheimer’s and Related Disorder Association of Ghana is a non-governmental, non-religious and non-profit making organization, established in 2012, aimed at raising awareness of all forms of dementia throughout Ghana especially among women, to eliminate the stigma attached to the disease through available media, and also to create a society which is dementia friendly, dementia literate where a person with dementia can live with dignity and honour, which he/she deserves.
Our Vision
Our vision is to create a society which is dementia friendly, dementia literate where a person with dementia can live with dignity and honour, which he/she deserves.
Our Mission
- To provide affordable, essential and easily accessible quality care and support to all those who have been affected by dementia.
- Improve care through training programmes for primary caregivers, social workers and families suffering from dementia to reflect dignified livelihood.
- To progressively increase social consciousness and awareness by 10 per cent yearly. So that by the end of the sustainable development Goals in 2030, Ghana will have reached 100 percent awareness of the Alzheimer’s mental disorder,
- Directly empower women through specific financial support who (intentionally or unintentionally) care for people with dementia aimed at helping these caregivers to decrease the burden of care on women/caregivers.
Together, bringing hope to Alzheimer’s care.
