DESCRIPTION:On 18 September 2026\, Alzheimer’s Ghana took dementia awareness into the school community through an awareness activity at Sakomono CWNA JHS. \nThe engagement introduced students and members of the school community to basic information about Alzheimer’s disease and dementia and encouraged greater understanding of the condition. \nThe activity demonstrated the importance of taking dementia education beyond healthcare facilities and into communities\, where early awareness can help challenge misconceptions and encourage informed conversations.

DESCRIPTION:World Alzheimer’s Day on 21 September provided a major public-awareness moment for Alzheimer’s Ghana. \nThe organization used the occasion to recognize people living with dementia\, families\, caregivers\, healthcare professionals\, volunteers\, partners\, stakeholders and others contributing to dementia awareness and support. \nThe public communication included awareness flyers\, visual materials and messages intended to make information about Alzheimer’s disease and dementia easier for the public to access and share. \nThe 2026 theme was: \n“The Earlier You Know\, The More You Can Do.” \n
